“Don’t feel bad for one moment about doing what brings you joy.”
― Sarah J. Maas,
The first time I even heard of this book was a couple of months ago when my best friend read it and said: ”I bet you’d really like this!” Took a look at the cover, read the back and even wrote down the title on a piece of paper (which I lost within the hour, oops!) But then I joined a bookish facebook group and the bookstagram community and EVERYONE was talking about it. Even found out there were two more parts. I decided to order them.. Honestly, I’m mad at myself for waiting so long!
When I started to read, I shoved everything I know about fairies (faeries and fae in here) aside and just read. I only knew about the Courts, but that was it. I can say, this book is a real page turner, especially when you love fantasy! Sarah’s way of writing had me hooked so early on. Sometimes I HAD to put down the book and process all the feels and things that happened, it all felt so real! Everytime I picked up the book again, it felt like I walked to a portal to Prythian. The characters were set down so well and the descriptions of them helped me picture all of them, as if I was watching a tv-series instead of reading a book. I’m definitely going to read more of Maas’ work after I finished this, because her writing makes me get lost between the pages, just as I like it.
I can go on about more things I liked, but I would reveal some things of the plot with it and I don’t want to spoil.
