May 2018 Wrap-Up!

My first month back after my break, so naturally I resume my monthly wrap-ups again 🙂 Nothing much happened really. Only finished two books, got to about a third in two others and I bought an ereader, the Kobo Aura H2O. However, I am grateful to resume blogging and instagramming as I really like it.

Books I have read this month

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas ★★★★ (My review)

I can’t describe how much I enjoy the writing and stories from Sarah J. Maas. At this point I have only 1.5 books left to read and it pains me! Just a few more months until Kingdom of Ash though!

A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas ★★★★★ (My review)

This read was refreshing. For all ACOTAR fans, go read this, it is an amazing bridge to the new book, of which a preview is included at the very end. Use the link above to view my full review.

I recieved only three books physical books this month, as I still have a huge pile of books on my shelves to read, two of which were pre-orders. However, I did buy some ebooks for my new ereader.

A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas

This book released at the start of the month, took some days for it to get to me but it was totally worth it! The cover is really pretty as you can see above.

Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody

I pre-ordered this book back in April, but bookdepository was slow once again. Recieved it halfway May. A pro is that I pre-ordered in time to get some goodies: three bookmarks themed around the book and a signed bookplate. You should have seen the funny look on my dad’s face when he saw I got mail from Philadelphia!

Mooncallers: Stars Wake by Leda C. Muir

This book is the debut of Leda. This book is somewhat more special to me than others, as it is written by a young woman I have followed on Twitter and YouTube since 2012 and now she wrote the first book in a series in my favourite genre! I am so intrigued and can’t wait to read it.

The Novice by Taran Matharu

This is my very first ebook 😀 I got myself a Kobo Aura H2O earlier in the month and ofcourse I needed a few book to start with. After some digging on the kobo site, I got drawn by this series. I am at 28% and it is amazing! Looking forward to reading the enitre series.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

This is another ebook I bought. So many people recommended it to me and I thought, why not! Read the first chapter and I am quite impressed by the story already.

Destroy Me by Tahereh Mafi

Got this novella in a bundle with Shatter Me. I had the choice to buy Shatter Me for €1,28 or for €7,- but with the novella (For some strange reason, the novella on its own was €11 something, €4,- than the bundle.) So ofcourse I went for the deal as the series seemed quite good.

Next month’s TBR

There are quite some books I’d want to read next month, but I will keep the list short(-ish), mostly for myself.

Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas

After I bought an e-reader and The Novice as an e-book, I got distracted and read most of that while I still was not finished with this book. Worth it, I will finish it soon enough anyway.

The Novice by Taran Matharu

I am almost at a third of this book and I really plan to finish this ASAP as it is so good and somewhat refreshing after some Throne of Glass books.

Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody

I will really need to flip a coin to decide what to read after finishing my curent reads…

Mooncallers: Stars Wake by Leda C. Muir

I have to restrain myself from picking this up before I am done with Empire of Storms and The Novice, it is so difficult!

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Months after finishing the Six of Crows duology, I still feel the itch to read more from Leigh Bardugo. I am planning on ordering the trilogy soon. (Ofcourse with the pretty covers)

Furyborn by Claire Legrand

Oh, I’d wish this to be true! I didn’t have the budget to buy it on release and now I do it is sold out on! MY HEART! I debated buying the e-book version, but it costs almost twice as much on the KOBO store as the print. I did manage to find a chapter sampler though!

Anticipated new releases

Before the Storm by Christie Golden, June 12th 2018

I love Christie Golden’s work and I am really excited for the next expansion of World of Warcraft. This book functions as an epilogue for the last patch of the current expansion and a tiny bit as a prequel for Battle for Azeroth.

    1. Oh! That doesn’t sound good. Do you mind sending me a screenshot so I can sort it out? You can choose whatever way from my contact page.

I do think there might be some error on wordpress’ side. The wordpress of a writer didn’t work for me on chrome, but the regular samsung browser worked. However, still wanna fix it!
