Unboxing | Fairyloot ‘Dragons’ December 2018

For the first time in almost a year I bought a Fairyloot box! I was a little bit disappointed by the last boxes I have received about a year ago. But when they announced that the December theme would be ‘Dragons’, it was pretty much an insta-buy! They said it would have a booksleeve and an ARC besides the featured book, so I had much faith in this box. Besides, I saw the contents of the boxes improve a lot throughout 2018. They deserve credit for that.
The reason it has taken so long for me to finally do this unboxing as one item was not included in the box by accident and had to be send out separately. Besides, I have been busy and hadn’t time to take the pictures.
It is not really an unboxing anymore as I have had all the items laying around my room for a while, but here are the pictures of all the contents!

The first item is this amazing looking reading journal. I skimmed through the pages and it looks beautiful on every page! Sadly, I am not so much of a journal user, so if anyone is interested in trading/buying this, hit me with a DM on Twitter!

The second item is a canvas pin-flag. I had been looking for one for a while, as I didn’t want my pins on my schoolbag anymore and Fairyloot saved me with this! (Pins weren’t included ofcourse.)

The next item is this dragon necklace! I read on the spoiler card it is glow-in-the-dark aswell! Oh, and it came in the cutest box. I really love the Fairyloot logo to bits!

And this is the promised booksleeve! I really love this design. It is really different from other sleeves I own and it is really handy (and water-proof if I can believe the little ‘tea-accident’ I had..)

This box also included a double-sided art print. On one side you have Manon Blackbeak from the Throne of Glass series as you can see on the picture above.

On the other side there it Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon. He looks so adorable in this! And look at that sky and the glare from the sun. Incredible art, really!

This is the item that was late by the way: The Mother of Dragons magnetic bookmark set! The art work is beautiful and that dragon is just… You know? It was worth the wait!

One of the things I was excited for in this box was the ARC. I very quickly figured out it would be this title and I am so glad it was! This books was on my list for 2019 releases, so being able to read it early was a gift on its own. I have read it last month and it was ★★★★★!! I will post my review later, as the release is still far away, but trust me, you’ll want to pre-order this!

And the featured book of this month: Fire & Heist by Sarah Beth Durst! It is an amazing stand-alone contemporary fantasy about dragons and dangerous heists. Even though contemporary fantasy is usually not my thing, I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

You can read my review here!

Here is the complete list of items, including links to the shops:

This box was even better than I imagined and I fucking love it! Dragons are my favourite fantastic creatures, so having a whole box dedicated to them (including some of my favourite fandoms) is the absolute dream!
I have read both books already as I had plenty of time since end December. You can read my review of Fire & Heist here and my review of The Storm Crow will come online somewhere closer to the release-date in July!

I am probably going to put the featured book Fire & Heist (it’s signed!) and the reading journal up for trade/sale. I will probably make a post about it on Twitter, but if you are interested you can shoot me a DM on Twitter in advance!
Something I am still looking for are the ACOTAR tarot cards from the January Fairyloot!

  1. This is such a cool box! I’ve always had a soft spot for books with dragons in them, and all of the dragon-themed merch definitely doesn’t hurt. 🙂 You’re almost making me want to buy a subscription box myself! I’ve been considering it for a bit now, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the investment…

    1. My advice for a sub box is to not get a monthly sub, atleast not at first, but just buy separate boxes and only if you are really convinced “YES! This is for me!”. I don’t know where you live, but usually it is the shipping that makes be box extra pricey so orientate which ship to your country for a decent price

      1. Thank you for the advice! I might try out a box or two over the next few months. My main concern is always not liking what’s in there (and therefore wasting money) so separate boxes seems like the perfect solution.
